myTECHNIC, Turkey’s Only Lean and Greenfield MRO, Adds the Maintenix® Software to its Toolkit.
myTECHNIC, a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility developed by Turkish investors Yavuz Çizmeci and Cankut Bagana, and U.S. based hedge-fund HBK investments, has signed an agreement with Canadian-based software firm, Mxi Technologies, for the Maintenix® software product. The software, which is a comprehensive integrated suite of applications ranging from engineering, heavy and shop maintenance, just-in-time part fulfilment, and aviation-related financial management, will allow myTECHNIC to automate its brand new maintenance operation with optimum efficiency.
The Mxi agreement is the latest in a series of myTechnic’s purchases of globally- sourced world-class products and services that have the enviable position of being incorporated into a lean greenfield environment. Before the ground was broken on the facility, myTECHNIC’s Board of Directors determined that lean principles would be infused into its every aspect; from the design and layout of the facility, within the organizational structure and throughout its operations. Made famous worldwide by Toyota, lean techniques cut costs by eliminating waste, not by cutting corners or relying on cheap labor to drive lower prices. The documented results of incorporating lean include, shorter turnaround times, efficiency in operational costs, improved management effectiveness, improved workplace organization, continuous improvement and an enterprise shaped around what the customer values.
“We deliberately chose to begin lean because we believe in a customer-centric approach. We wanted a set of best-practices that would consistently generate the greatest value for our customer’s outlay of money and time,” said Daglar Çizmeci, CFO/Board member of myTECHNIC. “From the beginning, our business model was to create value through efficiency. Being both greenfield and lean, we have been able to create a holistic and streamlined approach that will allow us to offer superior service levels at very competitive prices.”
Located at Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) on Istanbul’s Asian side, myTechnic is scheduled to begin operations in early 2008. myTECHNIC’s vision is to be the # 1 MRO in the region for Airbus and Boeing aircraft. The facility will serve the domestic Turkish market and surrounding countries’ carriers in Europe, the Middle East, Near East, CIS and North Africa, giving them a cost-effective alternative to high European rates or long trips to low-cost Asian MRO’s.
myTECHNIC will provide C and D checks for A318 through A321, B737 Classic and NG, B757,A300-B4, A300-600 and MD80 series.
