Yavuz Çizmeci, investor and Chairman of the Board of MRO Teknik Servis A.S.,(myTECHNIC) was part owner and Managing Director of MNG Airlines between 1999 and February 2006. During his tenor, the airline became one of the leading cargo airlines in the region with 30 aircraft in its fleet and several international awards for operating the Airbus A300 freighter. Mr Çizmeci struck his first international partnership in aviation in 1991 through a direct investment into his low-cost airline Sultan Air by General Electric Capital Corporation.
Cankut Bagana, investor and myTECHNIC board member is a 35-year veteran of the tourism industry, and the owner of Onurair, the largest private airline in Turkey. Onurair operates a domestic low-cost carrier within its umbrella of operations and has 28 new generation aircraft. Mr Bagana is also a familiar figure within the international investment community. The sale of his European travel agency network to U.K. tourism giant Firstchoice in 2001 was a groundbreaking transaction for the Turkish tourism sector.
Daglar Çizmeci, investor and myTECHNIC board member, holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business and an M.S. in Engineering in Logistics from MIT concentrating in commercial aircraft supply chains. He was a partner in Tradescape.com, a professional day-trading software company acquired by E-TRADE in 2001.
Mehmet Çeçen, myTECHNIC’s Managing Director , has a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Istanbul Technical University and 26 years of experience in the aviation industry. He began his career at Turkish Airlines (THY) as a project engineer, than moved to TAI (GD joint venture) for the F16 fighter project in 1986.
After serving as Maintenance Manager at Istanbul Airlines, (the largest private charter airline in Turkey at that time) for eight years, he went on to become one of the founding members of three other private airlines: Holiday Air, GTI Airlines, and SKY Airlines. He resigned as Managing Director of SKY Airlines to join myTECHNIC as its Managing Director.
Yusuf Bolayirli, Vice Chairman of myTECHNIC, is a veteran in the aviation industry, and 32 years of experience in this field. After obtaining his Aeronautical Engineer degree at Istanbul Technical University, he joined THY as a maintenance engineer. He served as the Maintenance Systems Manager and Quality Manager at THY Technic, then moving up to Head of Aircraft Maintenance before becoming General Manager of the company. After five and a half years of service as the General Manager and eight years on the company’s board, Mr. Bolayirli retired from THY. Mr. Bolayirli then assumed the position of General Manager position at Varan Tourism Bus Company, the largest transportation company in Turkey and still serves on its Board of Directors.
